Senior Choir Rehearse the X-Factor theme, 'O Fortuna'
Every Wednesday the Senior Choir rehearse in JGHS hall. Due to the large numbers and complexity of the music the choir divides in a sectional rehearsal with the three members of our music department and we come together in the hall at the end of the rehearsal.
We are rehearsing 'O Fortuna' from X-Factor. It has a very powerful opening and the choir are sounding very rich in tone with our large section of boys holding down the tenor and bass parts. The music suddenly moves from fortissimo (very loud) to pianissimo (very quiet) within one bar. The choir have been rehearsing this change in dynamic and have been working very hard on annunciating the latin lyrics. It is coming together very well and I think our audience in the Usher Hall at our Christmas Concert are in for a treat.
